Note: Arrive 15 mins early for set up. Also, The Gordon hosts a "Meet the Artist" mingle every month featuring a local artist. Our class will end about a half hour before it starts. Stick around!

You're welcome to bring your own image to work from or use one of mine that I'll have available at the workshop.


Tips to create a good image to work with.


  1. Light from one side, not straight on.

  2. Look for clear shadows that show depth.

  3. Make sure you capture darks, midtowns, and highlights,

  4. Avoid flat, even lighting.

  5. Image should be black and white.

You're welcome to bring your own image to work from or use one of mine that I'll have available at the workshop.

Morgan Foshee is an atelier-trained artist who focuses heavily on portraiture and figurative art. She studied at the Hein Atelier of Traditional Art for 5 years and worked as the right-hand assistant to respected painter Jeff Hein. She loves helping students refine their craft by relying on the core principles of drawing and painting.
